Day in the life...
People always ask me at what time I get up, what time I get to the studio, what we do before we go on air, even what I have for breakfast! So here's a day in the life of a typical 'This Morning'...
05.30 - I'm a slow starter in the morning so I like to give myself plenty of time to wake up to the day! Although I'll end up in makeup I always wash and dry my own hair before I leave home. I need several cups of Earl Grey tea to set me on my way.
06.45 - A car collects me from home to drive me to the studio. On the way I look through the scripts which will have been delivered late the night before, and read the briefs provided by the programmes researchers on the days guests. Reading in the car can often make me feel sick, so it's a bit of a stop start operation!
08.00 - I arrive at the studio and go straight to my dressing room to dump my coat and bag etc and then I head off to the Green Room. This is where the guests will gather as the morning goes on and also where we get breakfast. I usually start the day with toast and peanut butter.
08.10 - The most important part of the morning - makeup! For the next hour Lyn or Sandy work their magic on my hair and face - they're the best in the business and make me feel like a million dollars.

09.00 - Make up room also doubles as a meeting place where the
producer of the day comes to talk through the programme with the presenters. We discuss the running order, any changes that might have been made and generally talk through the show.
09.30 - Time to get dressed. All my clothes for This Morning are kept at the studios and the programme stylist David and I will pick and outfit and he makes sure I'm not clashing with Eamonn! It seems funny having help to get dressed at my age but microphone packs and ear pieces are quite tricky to deal with on my own. I often have to buy skirts a size bigger than I need so I can fit all the technical equipment down the back of my pants!
10.00 - I make my way to the studio - popping into the Green Room on my way to say hello to the guests who've arrived. After a quick chat with the director and all the crew we're ready to do our first live promotion at 10.15. After that just time to look through the autocue to check and time our links and then....
10.30 - And we're on the air!
